Mr.
Schiff: More scam e-mails. Special Agent John
Hambrick is the Chief of the FBI's Internet Crime
Complaint Center, IC3
Mr. Hambrick: "The 'Hit Man' scam. It's
a scam where the subject sends an e-mail to you
personally threatening your life."
Mr. Schiff: Hambrick
says these messages have poor grammer
Mr. Hambrick: "'I'm very sorry for you.'
'Is a pity that this is how your life is going
to end.' 'Someone you call a friend wants you
dead by all means.' 'Get back to me now if you're
ready to pay some fees to spare your life."
'Fifteen thousand is all you need to spend.' "
Mr. Schiff:
Hambrick says so far there have been no reports
of violence
Mr. Hambrick: "This is a scam. We've had
no loss of life; we've had no loss of money on
this. That's a good thing related to our effort
to get the message out. People have not succumbed
to these threats."
Mr Schiff: If
you get the 'Hit Man' e-mail, sent it to www.IC3.gov.
I'm Neal Schiff of the Bureau and that's what's
happening at the "FBI, This Week."
