ROBERT MUELLER ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR LOUIS BLAZY TO THE INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS DIVISION
WASHINGTON, D.C. - FBI
Director Robert S. Mueller, III, announced the appointment of Louis J. Blazy,
to the position of Assistant Director (AD) of the Information Technology
Operations Division (ITOD).
As AD-ITOD, Mr. Blazy
is responsible for operating and maintaining a global information technology
(IT) infrastructure in support of the Bureau's administrative, intelligence
and law enforcement efforts. He will also undertake efforts to increase the
quality of services through facilitation and transition of advanced technology
development efforts currently underway by organizational components within
the Office of the Chief Information Officer.
Director Mueller said, "As
the FBI continues to expand our information technology infrastructure, AD
Blazy will lead our efforts to deliver quality services to our agents, analysts,
and support staffs."
Prior to his appointment
with the FBI, AD Blazy served in a variety of senior executive positions
for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). While at HUD, AD Blazy served as
Senior Advisor for IT for the Department, as Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS)
for Administration, Budget, and as Chief Financial Officer for the Office
of Public and Indian Housing. Prior to joining HUD, he served as Special
Assistant to the Associate Administrator for Aerospace Technology, Director
of NASA's software Independent Verification and Validation Facility, and
Chief of the NASA Ames's IT research division. AD Blazy also served at the
Department of Agriculture, Central Intelligence Agency, Georgetown University,
and at the University of Maryland University College. AD Blazy holds several
degrees including a B.A., M.A., M.B.A. and a dual Ph.D. degree in Quantitative
Methods (Statistics) and Human Factors (Computer) Engineering.
