FBI Director Mueller
Selects Arthur Money to Chair FBI Science and
Technology Advisory Board
FBI Director Robert
Mueller today announced the selection of Arthur
Money as the first chairman of the FBI's Science
and Technology Advisory Board. The Science and Technology
Advisory Board was authorized by Congress in February
2003 with a charge to independently advise the Director
on matters relating to science, technology, research,
engineering, information management, and other matters
of special interest to the FBI. The focus of the
panel will be on the application of science and
technology to address the FBI's priorities of preventing
terrorist attacks, countering foreign intelligence
operations, combating cyber-based attacks, and strengthening
FBI collaboration with other law enforcement and
intelligence partners.

Art has agreed to lead our inaugural Science and
Technology Advisory Board," said Director Mueller.
"Art brings to the table a wealth of experience
and a proven track record of accomplishment - both
in the private sector and in government service
- that will help make the new board a success. I
look forward to consulting with Art and the board
and believe they will be a valuable asset to me
and the entire FBI."
Mr. Money has served
in various capacities in the Department of Defense,
which included two years (1999 to 2001) as Assistant
Secretary of Defense for Command, Control, Communications
and Intelligence (C3I). From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Money
served as the Chief Information Officer for the
Department of Defense. He also served as a Senior
Civilian Official, Office of the Assistant Secretary
of Defense, from 1998 to 1999, and prior to that
time was the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force
for Research, Development and Acquisition.
Mr. Money has more
than 40 years of management and engineering experience
with the defense electronics and intelligence industry
and currently serves as a member of the advisory
board to several corporations and as a member of
the board of directors for numerous companies. Mr.
Money holds a Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Santa Clara and
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
from San Jose State University. He currently serves
on several U.S. Government boards and panels, including
the Defense Science Board, and is a recipient of
numerous awards and honors including the Intelligence
Community Seal Medallion and Defense Intelligence
Agency Director's Award in 2001.
