Forensic Analysis of Paint
Course dates to be announced
This class offers an in-depth overview of the methods used for paint analysis
by infrared spectroscopy. The course objectives are to provide (1) an understanding
of infrared instrumental methods, (2) an overview to help choose an appropriate
technique for a specific paint analysis, and (3) hands-on experience with sample
preparation, characterization, and spectral interpretation. Students who complete
this course will be familiar with the application of infrared spectroscopy for
the analysis of a diversity of paints including architectural paints and automotive
paints.
